INVESTING IN BULGARIA?

The number of German investments in Bulgaria is increasing. Several factors play a decisive role. What are the reasons for an investment decision in Bulgaria? Here is the example of a link article for Germany. However, this also applies to all EU countries and Switzerland.

1. Attractive tax policy:
The Bulgarian tax system offers one of the lowest tax rates in Europe: only 10% VAT and 10% income tax. There is therefore the possibility for exemption from VAT on imports of equipment for investment projects worth over EUR 5 million.
2. A double tax treaty between Germany and Bulgaria.
Since 1987, an agreement has been concluded to avoid double taxation between Germany and Bulgaria. In 2010 there was an update of this agreement to be synchronized with European regulations.
3. No currency risk
In Bulgaria, the euro has not yet been introduced as an official national currency. But since 1997 the Bulgarian currency (Lew) has been linked to the Deutsche Mark and then to the euro. The fixed exchange rate of 1 levy = 0.51129 euro is fixed by Bulgarian law.
4. Excellent geopolitical position at the intersection between Europe, Asia and CIS
Bulgaria has a strategic position and thus arouses economic and political interests. There are many possibilities before Bulgaria: further development as an important location for the redistribution of raw materials and production, the intersection of international economic relations and many others.
5. Low labor costs
Bulgaria ranks among the countries with the lowest wage costs in Europe. The minimum wage in Bulgaria is set by law and amounts to 460 BGN (235,19 Euro) for the year 2017. At year-end 2016 the average wage is about 500 euros.
6. Many non-developed industries
Bulgaria is one of the developing countries and therefore there are still many not well-represented sectors. This can be a disadvantage, but there are also many investment opportunities.
7. Strong German-Bulgarian network on site
German-Bulgarian economic relations have been very strong for years. In Sofia and Plovdiv, the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has representations. There are also German main tables in every major city - Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna.
8. Numerous employees with knowledge of German
In Bulgaria, most of the employees have good language skills in at least one foreign language, including German. The foreign language schools and language centers are a guarantee that you will be well understood in German.
9. Well-trained and still qualified skilled workers
In the last few years, the proportion of employees with a diploma degree has increased. Particularly in the fields of economics, computer science, engineering sciences and medicine, preparation is at a high level.
10.Member of the European Union
After the accession of the Bulgarians of the European Union, many possibilities have been discovered before Bulgaria. The Bulgarian legal system is synchronized with the European legal framework (including economic law, inheritance law, company law).
